Q: Is this product similar to astro-turf?
A: No. Our product is actually synthetic grass combined with a black silica sand. The sand is spread over top of the synthetic grass to keep the 2” strands in place, causing it look and feel just like real grass.
Q: Over time, will the sun harm the grass or make it fade?
A: No. Our product has a protective UV coating and can endure extreme weather conditions, including sun, heat, wind, snow and ice.
Q: How long can I expect this product to last?
A: The actual life expectancy is 15-25 years with a limited 7-year warranty.
Q: What type of maintenance is involved with this product?
A: To keep the grass looking its best, an occasional grooming is recommended to keep the fibers standing up and to even out the silica sand. Leaves and twigs can simply be removed with a leaf blower.
Q: Can pets harm it?
A: No. This product is even used specifically for dog runs. Urine simply absorbs into the sand and ultimately evaporates. Other messes can be cleaned up the same as real grass, using a shovel or pooper scooper. Simply hose off when necessary.
